Robinson, William “Bill” Henry Jr. February 6, 2025
Was born at home in their summer camp, on Perry St, in Weymouth Massachusetts (on Whitman’s Pond) August 24, 1927 to William Henry Sr. & Lillian Elizabeth (Douglas of PEI) Robinson of 127 Russell Street, North Quincy. He graduated from North Quincy High School in 1946 and enlisted in the Naval Reserves. Upon discharge he worked for Eastern Shade & Screen. In 1950 his family moved to South Weymouth, giving up their cottage on Whitman’s pond and the apartment in North Quincy for a permanent home on Durant Road. On June 25, 1956 he started his first day as a home delivery milkman for Hood Milk while continuing to work part time for Eastern Shade & Screen. Just shy of 20 years he purchased the distributorship from Hood, delivering milk to homes for another 15 years before retiring in 1990.
He was predeceased by his second wife G. Corrine (McGrath) Joyce whom he married in 1968 and remained her husband for 37 years until her death in 2005. He is survived by his son William Douglas and his wife Lisa Robinson of Harvard, Donna (Robinson) McCue of Marshfield, David Robinson, Daniel Robinson and his partner Leslie Berry of Lovell, Maine as well as his stepsons Patrick and his wife Peggy Joyce of Tewksbury and Michael Joyce of South Boston. He is also predeceased by his stepdaughter Maureen (Joyce) and her husband John LeClair, his mother, father and stepfather Walter E Dean. He has 10 grandchildren, Colleen, Patrick, Jamie, Corrine, Brian, Katie, Cory, Adam, Kaitlyn and Emily, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
He had a strong love for outdoor life spending the first thirteen summers of his life on Whitman’s Pond in Weymouth and hunting the marshes of Quincy and then many summers camping with his parents at Dolly Copp Campground in Gorham NH. As an adult he spent a great deal of time hunting and mountain climbing in northern New England. He was a life time member of the NRA. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends, playing horseshoes and home improvement projects. He and Connie belonged to bowling and cribbage leagues and after his retirement enjoyed Las Vegas. He lived in the house he had built in South Weymouth since 1958, 60+ years, and loved his neighborhood, neighbors and their dogs. His remarkable neighbors provided him with many hours of friendship and looked out for him over the last 20 years. We are thankful to all of his local physicians and the VA vision and audiology departments for their many years of care. We also thank all of his homecare workers from the last 11 years and especially Karen (having been with him 8 years) and Norwell Visiting Nurses Association for their exceptional hospice care these last 10 months as well as Cornerstone Care Giving for their outstanding support jumping right in with 24/7 care for the last days of his life.
