Wilfred "Bill" Charles Hailstone

Wilfred “Bill” Hailstone of Dorchester passed away on December 12, 2022, at the age of 79. Bill was born and raised in South Weymouth and graduated from South Weymouth High School in 1961. After graduating he married his high school sweetheart Barbara, and they settled in South Weymouth. Bill worked for several years in sales for Clairol and Interstate coffee company before deciding to embark on a career in carpentry.

Bill loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid hockey enthusiast, and was a coach for the South Shore Junior Braves for many years and also the cofounder of the Abington Yellow Jackets and the Hornets hockey teams.  Bill loved coaching little league baseball for the town of Abington. Bill was also a member of the Weymouth Eagles, and the Knights of Columbus in Abington and Quincy. He often enjoyed traveling to Rangley, Maine, Quebec City, and Pennsylvania to visit his family.

Bill is survived by his loving children Karen Cardinal and her husband Joseph of East Bridgewater, Sharon Manoli and her husband Matthew of North Weymouth, Brian Hailstone and his wife Teri of Abington, and Sean Hailstone and his wife Laura of Marshfield. Bill is also survived by his grandchildren, Justin, Megan, Peter, Alexandra, Matthew, Samantha, Andrew, Kristen, Jonathan, Abigail, William, and Catherine. Bill will also be missed by his 8 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Bill on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 9am to 11am in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. Weymouth (Columbian Sq.). A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11am in the funeral home.
