Virginia Lewis

Virginia Lewis of South Weymouth, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024 at the age of 95. She was born and raised in South Weymouth where she graduated from Weymouth High School in 1946. Shortly after, she met the man of her dreams, Donald P. Lewis, in 1950. Together they built a home and raised a beautiful family. Virginia worked for Crowley and Gardner in Boston after graduating high school. She was also a medical secretary for many years and volunteered for meals on wheels.

Virginia had a passion for reading, crossword puzzles, bingo, and cooking. She enjoyed monthly bus trips to Foxwoods. She sewed doll clothes for the Old South Union craft fair and for her great-granddaughters. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to locations such as Florida, England, Bermuda, Bahamas, Ireland, and Maine just to name a few. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Virginia was a proud grandmother and doted over her grandchildren.

Virginia is predeceased by her loving husband, Donald P. Lewis. She is survived by her daughters Donna Delahunt and her husband Matthew Delahunt of South Weymouth and Sandra Kelley and her husband David Kelley of South Weymouth. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christopher (Christina), Kendra, Lindsay, and Mathew as well as her great grandchildren Jake, Emma, Ava, and Dillen.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Virginia on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 10-11am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11am. Burial will be at Lakeview cemetery located at 335 Pond St. Weymouth, MA 02190.
