Theresa M. Polvere (Palingo), age 77, of Braintree, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Theresa was the daughter of the late Ralph and Josephine (Perone) Palingo. Born in Boston, Theresa was raised and educated in Milton where she graduated from Milton High School in 1964. Theresa married the love of her life, Thomas in 1968 and the two initially lived in Quincy before settling in Braintree, where they raised their family.
Although her birth name was Theresa, those who loved her called her Mom, Nana, Sister, Auntie, Tree, Mrs. P. and Friend. Theresa was a caring and loving woman, who in addition to raising her family was a respected employee in the banking industry where she worked for more than twenty years as a Mortgage Underwriter. Theresa was an amazing cook, who not only loved to prepare meals for her family, but also cherished the time spent teaching and cooking with her grandchildren. After she retired in 2012, Theresa took her first cruise. This adventure would turn into a passion as she would embark on dozens of cruises, to many locations with her favorite being Bermuda. When not cooking, or cruising, Theresa would also enjoy her time at Foxwoods playing slot machines, seeing shows, dining at restaurants, spending time with family and meeting new friends. Most of all, she adored her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Theresa is predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas M. Polvere. Devoted mother to Andrea M. Abdallah and her husband Jim, of Weymouth, Thomas D. Polvere and his wife Jennifer, of Rockland and Rachel A. Polvere, of Braintree. Loving grandmother of Brianna Vandermyde and her husband Derek, Danielle Abdallah, James Abdallah, Isabelle Polvere, Sophia Polvere and Olivia Polvere and her great-granddaughter, Audrey Vandermyde. Theresa is also survived by her sister, Patricia Richardson. She is predeceased by her siblings, Peter Palingo, Carol Hudson and Anthony Palingo. She will be missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
