Terrence Doyle, a beloved member of the Dorchester, Quincy and Weymouth communities, passed away unexpectedly on September 4th at the age of 65.
Terrence is survived by his loving family: Kathleen Keating (Ron, Ret BFD) of Braintree and Bradenton, FL; Lynda Mitchell (Richard) of Bradenton, FL; Francis Doyle (Kathi) of Norwell; Maura Pittman (Spencer) of Lawrenceville and St. Simon Island, GA; Tracy Doyle (John Hill) of Braintree; sister-in-law Jeanne Doyle of Scituate; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Kathryn (Kitty) Doyle, and his siblings, Justin (Jay) Doyle and Monica Doyle.
Terrence attended Boston Public Schools, St. Coletta Day School in Braintree, and John T. Berry School. After completing his education, Terrence sought independence, which he achieved with the support of his family, the Department of Developmental Services, and Towards Independent Living and Learning (TILL). He lived independently in the community for nearly 30 years before transitioning to a wonderful group home, where he was cherished by his roommates and the caring staff, especially "Mrs. B."
Terrence was a bright light who touched the lives of all who knew him. He was the heart of his family and community, and his infectious smile, warm hugs, and kind words made everyone feel welcome. Whether you knew him as Terrence, Terry, T-Bucket, or T, he always greeted you with enthusiasm and genuine affection. Don't worry if he forgot your name; to him, you were simply beautiful, buddy, pal, or a cherished family member.
Terrence was a master of navigation, whether it was navigating the T to visit the love of his life Patty in Belmont or finding his way to a doctor's appointment or bowling. His remarkable sense of direction and ability to quickly grasp unfamiliar routes made him a reliable guide for friends and family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Terrence on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 3-7:00 PM in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Sq) South Weymouth. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to: TILL, Towards Independent Living and Learning, Inc., In Memory of Terrence Doyle, 20 Eastbrook Rd., #201 Dedham, MA 02026
