Robert Mecagni

Robert Louis Mecagni, aged 91, of Weymouth, passed away on April 20, 2023. Robert was born, raised, and educated in Quincy, and he graduated from Quincy High School in 1948. After high school, Robert entered the US Navy. He married his beloved wife Hazel in 1957 and the two settled in Weymouth, where they raised their loving family.

Robert enjoyed doing yard work, especially keeping his lawn in pristine condition. He loved to build and fix things and restored his antique 1936 Ford Coupe. He was a lover of music, especially jazz and blues, he even played the banjo. Robert was big sports fan, his favorite being hockey, he loved watching the Bruins play. Robert adored animals, especially his beloved boxer, Rocky.

Robert is predeceased by his wife, Hazel Mecagni (Pecoraro), sister in-law Donna Gray (Pecoraro). He is survived by his loving children, Linda Mecagni of Weymouth, Lisa Mecagni, and her partner Wayne Hayden of Weymouth, Bobby Mecagni, and his wife Emma of Hanover. He was also loved by his niece Heidi and husband Billy Lynch of Virginia Beach. Nephews Eric and Steven Fallgren of Virginia Beach.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Robert on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 9:30- 11:30am in the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) South Weymouth. A service for Robert will follow immediately after the visiting hours inside the funeral home. Burial will be at Village Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA using the link provided on this page.
