Rita Miller

Rita Miller (Buckley) age 81, of Abington, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023. Rita was born and raised in Somerville. She married her beloved husband, Roger, on May 6, 1978. They settled in Abington after to start their family. Rita and Roger  created countless memories on their many family trips to Sebastian, FL.

Rita worked at Com Energy in Cambridge for over 30 years, and later worked at Planet Fitness for about 15 years before retiring to spend more time with her granddaughters who she adored. Rita loved to play cards and also enjoyed many trips and cruises with her girlfriends.

Rita was predeceased by her husband Roger L. Miller II. She is the loving mother of Roger L. Miller III and his wife Jaclyn of Abington, loving Nana of Abigail and Isabelle, and sister of Gerald Buckley, Phyllis Cullinane and her husband Tom, Charlotte Grant, and the late Bobby and Charlie. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Betsy Buckley as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Rita on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 3-7pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home on Monday Morning at 10am for a Celebration of Life prior to the funeral mass which will take place at St. Bridget's Church in Abington, MA at 11am. Burial will immediately follow in the Bourne National Cemetery at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers Rita would love everyone to enjoy a Tito's and Soda while playing some Keno.
