Richard "Rick" W Bryant, age73, of Weymouth, passed away on March 15, 2023. Rick was born, raised, and educated in Weymouth. He graduated from Weymouth High School in 1967. He married his beloved wife Pamela in 1973 and the two settled in Weymouth where they raised their loving daughter, Karen.
Rick (or "Dickie" as he was known to many) worked for many years as an automotive machinist. He moved on to work until his retirement as an industrial mechanic. In his spare time Rick also used his skills in his own garage and was a trusted mechanic to his family and friends. He had many interests and hobbies but (besides his family) his biggest passion was flying. Rick was a longtime recreational pilot and was the proud owner of a Cessna 170. He spent many mornings flying with his wife and grandchildren to get breakfast in Martha's Vineyard and enjoyed giving rides to his family and friends. Rick was a member of the Plymouth Aero Club for 50 plus years and was also a longtime member of the Weymouth Sportsman's Club. Rick enjoyed travelling with his wife. Some of their best times were trips to Virginia Beach, The Cayman Islands and Florida. Their favorite place by far though was Hawaii, which Rick and Pam loved so much they visited eight times.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Bryant (Fletcher). He is also survived by his loving daughter, Karen Anderson and her husband Ted, of Weymouth. He was a devoted Papa to Colin, Lyla, and Jack. He is predeceased by his brother, Phillip Bryant. He is survived by his siblings, Russell "Shorty" Bryant, and Steven Bryant. He will also be missed by many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Rick on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 4pm to 7pm in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth MA. A Celebration of Life will be held the following day in the funeral home at 10am. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Weymouth, MA.
