In Loving Memory of Paula Dhooge
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paula (Renehan) Dhooge, who passed peacefully surrounded by her boys and her brother on November 14th at the age of 68. Paula was a beloved Mother, Nunny, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, and a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born on December 12, 1955, to the late John P. and Catherine (Flaherty) Renehan, Paula was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in 1973. Paula married the love of her life, the late Stephen L. Dhooge Sr, in 1978, whom she met in Dorchester. Paula and Stevie settled in Weymouth to raise their three children.
An extremely devoted mother, Paula also worked as a bartender at Finian’s in Quincy, as well as the Weymouth Elks. She was quick witted with an infectious laugh, which could be heard for miles. Paula was an avid reader and a proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren.
Paula is survived by her three sons, Stephen and his wife Melanie, of San Antonio, Matthew and his wife Lauren, of Weymouth, Mark and his wife Sarah, of Hingham. She is also survived by her 9 Grandchildren Taylor, James, Nathan, Emma, Grace, Addison, Matthew, Sean, Georgia, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Paula was also the beloved sister of Karen Evans, Susan O'Brien, Tommy Renehan, Joe Renehan, and the late Jack Renehan, Mary Morrissey, Mark Renehan, and William Renehan.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday November 22nd at 10am at St Francis Xavier church in Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the make a wish foundation at www.wish.org.
Though Paula is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. Rest easy, you will be missed, but never forgotten.
