Paul Anthony Tirone, aged 99, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2023. Paul was born and raised in Quincy, MA and graduated from Quincy Trade School in 1940. After graduating Paul worked at the Quincy Shipyard until he was drafted by the military. He bravely served in the US Navy during World War II and was honorably awarded the Purple Heart Medal. When he returned home from the war, he married his wife Marjorie in 1948 and the two settled in Weymouth to raise their family.
Paul was a sheet metal worker for the Local 17 and was a member of the sheet metal union for 74 years. He was known for his amazing work ethic throughout his life. When he wasn’t working, Paul would be tending to his pristine yard. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, and taking his daily walk outside. Paul was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, The Arigona Association, and The Tin Can Sailors.
Paul is predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie Tirone (Burfitt). He is survived by his loving children, Michael Tirone and his wife Brenda of Fairhaven, MA, Cathleen White and her husband Richard of Wrentham MA, Judith Forbes and her husband Dana of Pembroke, and Lisa Carson and her husband Dennis of Hanson, MA. Paul was also loved by his grandchildren Cara, Rachael, Michael, Brian, Danielle, Paul, Nathan, Emily, Mallory, and eleven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Salters and Bea Greene. He is predeceased by his siblings, Sam, Charlie, George and Johnny Tirone.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Paul on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 4-7pm in the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. ( Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9am Tuesday morning for a Celebration of Life prior to the funeral Mass which will begin at 10am in the Saint Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth, MA
