Paul V. Connelly of Weymouth passed away on January 18, 2022 at the age of 79 from complications of Covid. Paul was born, raised, and educated in Milton graduating from Milton High School with the class of 1963. Upon graduating Paul joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country for 3 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Once his military duties concluded he returned home, met his future wife, Kathy, and worked in the food service industry including the Toll House, Charles River Country Club, and Wollaston Golf Club, before retiring from Milton Academy as Director of Food Service. He then changed careers to pursue his dream of desktop publishing, and served as a consultant with J.M. Perrone Printing Company until his full retirement in 2006.
Paul was an avid reader of novels and news. He loved technology and always embraced the newest Apple products when they came out. If you walked by the house, you would have seen Paul working in the yard, helping neighbors with snow removal or manning the grill for family BBQs. Paul cherished the time he spent with family – whether it was traveling, being on the beach, grilling and cooking, or sharing his love of movies. Above all else he adored his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Paul was the loving husband of 55 years to his wife Kathy Connelly of Weymouth. He was the devoted father of Shelly Connelly of Norwood and Dawn Connelly, married to John Gomes, of Arlington. He was the grandfather of Tiago and Ella. Paul also leaves behind his sister Florence Helfrich of FL as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Paul's memory to the South Shore Veterans Assistance at https://www.wearessva.org/.
