Norma McKenzie

Norma (Dubiel) McKenzie, age 84, of S. Weymouth passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Born in Fall River to Marguerite and Edward DuBiel, Norma graduated Durfee High School in 1958, after serving as class President her senior year. Norma loved to be social and enjoyed organizing many class reunions since graduating.

Norma continued her education with Bridgewater State College in 1962 where she received a B.S. Degree in Education, then received her Master's Degree from Boston State College. She taught elementary school for seven years then was a substitute for many additional years. She truly loved the work and considered herself so lucky to help all of the children she taught.

Norma was a Weymouth Resident since 1971 and loved getting involved in the community. She was the Weymouth Art Association President from 1991-1994, long time member of Massachusetts Scribes, taught calligraphy at Boston Center for Adult Education, among many other interests.

Norma was predeceased by her former husband, Francis and their son, Niles McKenzie. She is survived by a sister, Jane Brown, and Jane’s husband, Allen both of Framingham, and her niece, Kristin Brown, of California.

Services will be private. The family wishes to thank all of those who knew and celebrated life with her.
