Neil Brunswick, aged 71, of Weymouth, passed away at his home on March 8, 2023. Neil was born, raised and educated in Dorchester, and graduated from Dorchester High School in 1969. After high school, Neil joined the Marines and was stationed in California. He and his wife Mary, wed in 1971, and after living in California for a few years, they moved back to Dorchester to raise their loving family.
Neil worked for 25 plus years at Hobart and after retirement enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as much as possible. He gave lifelong service to his childhood church, First Parish Church Dorchester. He served as a board member several times, head of buildings and grounds, clerk and was a retired Deacon. Neil had many hobbies and was an avid reader. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and gardening. He was a member of the American Legion, Rockland Branch #0147.
Neil is predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Dorothea "Dot" (Meegan) Brunswick and his brother, Ralph Brunswick. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Brunswick (Aspacher), his loving children, Noël Currier, and her husband Don, of Dorchester, Neil Brunswick, and his wife, Mary, of Marshfield, and George Brunswick, of South Weymouth. Neil was also loved by his grandchildren, Chris, Ava, John, and Liam. He will be missed by his siblings, Carol, Jean, Ann, and Lori.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Neil at the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 10am- 12pm. A service for Neil will follow immediately after visiting hours in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in honor of Neil Brunswick, to the American Legion, Rockland Branch and to the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association.
