Merle Noddin

Merle Noddin, age 78, of Weymouth passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at home. Merle was raised and educated in Hull then graduated from the Weymouth Vocational High School in 1964. He immediately joined the Marines where he proudly served for four years including combat in Vietnam. Merle learned to be a jet engine mechanic while in the military which allowed him to have a career with American Airlines where he retired at the age of 51 after 35 years of service.

Merle loved to travel to places including, but not limited to Japan, Hawaii, England, etc. He was involved in many groups over the years such as the Weymouth Braintree Elks, Bowling at the Lucky Strike, and was a scout master.

Merle is survived by his longtime significant other Carolyn Rocha of S. Weymouth, his loving children Tina MacEachern of Abington and Michael Noddin and his significant other Sarah Scaffidi of Reading, his grandchildren Patrick, Makaela, Amber, Michael II, and Wyatt, and his great-grandson Liam. Merle is also survived by his sister Vila Anselmo.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Merle on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 5-7pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:45am on Thursday morning for a funeral service that will begin promptly at 11am. Cremation will follow.
