Mary Helen Lawson

Mary H. Lawson of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024 at the age of 98. She was born in Melrose and raised in North Quincy. Shortly after high school she met and married John H. Lawson of New York. They moved to Weymouth where they raised their family. After getting all of her children into school she started a career at Sears. She worked as a returns specialist for thirty years.

Mary loved spending her summers at her home in Naples, Maine for the past 42 years. She loved when her grandchildren would visit her in Maine with the great grandchildren. She had countless fond memories of sitting around the camp fire and eating s'mores with them. Mary loved going out for lobster and going to bingo while in Maine with her many friends there. She was a huge Notre Dame and Patriots fan, she never missed a game. She will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband John H. Lawson, her son Richard C. Lawson, her grandson's Gregory and Richard Lawson. She is survived by her daughter and loving care giver Karen (Lawson) Greene and her husband Patrick, Son, Robert Lawson and wife Donna of Marston Mills, Son, John Lawson and wife Robin of Cudjoe Key Florida, Son, Michael Lawson and his wife Lori of Micco, Florida, Also grandmother to fifteen grandchildren, great grandmother to twenty two grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Mary on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 10- 10:30am, in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) South Weymouth. A funeral service will follow immediately after the visitation in the funeral home at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local food pantry.
