Mary L. Duseau, 87, of Weymouth, MA passed away peacefully on April 10, 2023. Born in Boston and raised in Allston. Mary graduated from St. Columbkille High School in 1953. Then continued her education at Boston Teacher's College. Later she earned her Master's Degree in Education from Leslie University. She married her beloved husband Paul on June 28, 1958. They lived a true love story, being married for nearly 65 years.
Mary worked for the Weymouth school system her entire teaching career. Starting at Pratt Elementary, then on to Weymouth South High School, and finished her career teaching eighth grade at the Weymouth South Junior High School. She was a caring and giving woman who often volunteered at the Weymouth Food Pantry. Mary was also a devout Catholic and active parishioner at Saint Francis Xavier Church. She was a Eucharistic Minister, taught CCD, a member of the ladies Sodality, and also a regular at the 9 o'clock Mass for many years. Mary enjoyed reading, playing bridge, watching the Boston sports teams and going to White Horse Beach with her family. Her dedication, compassion and kindness will be missed, but her legacy will live on through the many lives that she touched.
Mary is survived by her husband Paul Duseau. She is also survived by her loving children, Robert Duseau and his wife Marianne of Plymouth, Richard Duseau and his wife Karen of Weymouth, David Duseau of Walpole and Paul Jr. She cherished her grandchildren Caroline, Robert, William, Charlie, Ariana, Matthew, Elizabeth, Katherine, Emily and Allison. Mary was preceeded in death by her brother Joseph Doucette of Maine. She is survived by her brothers, Donald Doucette of Florida and Gerald Doucette of Massachusetts. Also, sister in-law Virginia Duseau of Milton and Joseph and Janice Duseau of Florida. As well as many neices, nephews, friends, colleagues and former students who loved her dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Mary on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 4-7pm at the CC Shepherd Funeral Home. Located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 9am for a Celebration of Life. Followed by a funeral mass at 10am at Saint Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth, MA.
