Martha "Marty" June Post (Albert), age 78, of Weymouth passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Marty was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She met her husband, David, in 1970 while working as a dietician in Boston. They soon after were married then lived for a short time in Jamaica Plain before settling in Weymouth.
Marty was devoted to her family and is survived by her sister Mary Jean and her husband Norman Voigt of Pennsylvania, sisters-in-law, Andrea Kudla and her husband Francis of Winthrop, Alison Pearson and her husband James of Marshfield, and her brother-in-law Anthony Ingram and his wife Tracy of Quincy.
Marty was an avid runner during her road racing years winning many, many awards. She was also a passionate reader, reading two or more books weekly. In fact, one of her concerns during the COVID quarantine was that she may not be able to get to the library! Marty was also an expert quilter and was a member of the Crosstown Quilting Guild and the Herring Run Quilting Guild. She went on to win several awards for her amazing quilt designs throughout her affiliations. Marty also loved baking and many other crafts, including basket weaving and creating beautiful holiday ornaments and keepsakes. Her baking skills were second to none. Family and friends looked forward to her gifts of amazing cookies, breads and sweets for family events and the holidays.
Marty also had a love for animals especially cats and often incorporated them into her quilt designs and crafts. She has had several throughout her life and often fed strays... some of which wound up becoming treasured family pets.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Alley Cat Allies @ www.alleycat.org
