Margaret "Peggy" Cottell

     Margaret “Peggy” Cottell (Leary) passed away peacefully on November 18, 2022. Margaret was born and raised in Weymouth and attended Weymouth High School. Margaret worked as a waitress and then was a driver for a special needs school bus for many years, after that she worked as a toll operator for the Mass Turnpike for 25 years.

     Margaret married her beloved husband, the late Paul Cottell, in 1977 and they settled in Weymouth where they raised their two sons Patrick and Paul.  Margaret was very active in the St. Alberts Parish and was part of a craft group through the parish that met every Thursday where they would partake in various craft projects and knit shawls. Margaret was very devoted to her sisters, especially her sister Franny.

     Margaret is survived by her children, Patrick Quinn and his wife Kathy of Randolph, and Paul "Paulie" Cottell of New York, NY. She is also survived by her sisters, Marie Nista, Kay Skidmore, Helen McNeil, and Franny Leary. She was loved by many nieces and nephews.

     Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation of Margaret in the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant Street (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, Ma on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 4-6pm. A funeral Mass will take place the following day, Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 10am at St. Albert the Great Church in Weymouth, Ma. A burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, Ma.
