Margaret "Dolly" Mahoney, age 81, of Weymouth passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 surrounded by her family. Dolly was raised and educated in Dorchester. She married her beloved husband, Edward Mahoney, in Boston and they stayed in Dorchester for most of their life where they raised their thirteen children. Dolly was a hard working, faithful woman who was dedicated to family more than anything else. Always looking to sacrifice her own time to be with those she loved.
Dolly enjoyed playing bingo in the church hall with friends and family ,country music and had an enormous sense of humor. She loved holidays (especially Christmas, where the Mahoney celebration could last for weeks), with her children and twenty grandchildren. Dolly valued her family above all else and was passionate about creating family memories
Dolly was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Mahoney, and her three children Richard, Lisa, and Michael Mahoney. She is survived by her children Corinne Sheehan and her husband Charlie of Braintree, Danny Mahoney and his wife Yvonne of Middleboro, Shawn Mahoney of New Bedford, Tommy Mahoney of New Bedford, Kelly Calitri and her husband John of Middleboro, Nicole Mahoney and her partner Mike Barrette of Somerset, Lori Mahoney of Braintree,John Mahoney of New Bedford, Crystal Mahoney of Braintree, and Holly Mahoney and her partner Terry Gregoire of Attleboro, her twenty grandchildren, her ten siblings, and many, many, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Dolly on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather Wednesday morning at 9:45am in the funeral home for a funeral service that will begin at 10am. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Randolph at 11:30am.
