M. Kenneth (Ken) Heckman Jr., age 90, of Hingham passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Ken was born and raised in E. Stroudsburg, PA. He was very passionate about education throughout his life, receiving a Bachelor's Degree from Lafayette College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity from Drew Seminary, and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania.

After years of serving as pastor at various Methodist Parishes, Ken decided to expand his ministry to focus on the needs of children and families. This gave him the ability and knowledge to help children in need as a social worker. Ken was also the President and CEO of Bases/United Methodist Home for Children.
Ken and Alice retired to Plymouth in 2000 and most recently have lived in Linden Ponds in Hingham since 2014.
