Lynette W. Ruley (Wiggins), age 72, of Weymouth passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Lynette was born to Eva and James Wiggins in Winston-Salem, NC, on June 25, 1952. She was the tenth of thirteen children. Lynette graduated from Overbrook High School in 1970 and earned a Bachelor's degree from Penn State University in 1974.
Lynette married her sweetheart, Elwood, in 1980. They started a family together in Philadelphia and then settled in Weymouth, Massachusetts. They were blessed to have four daughters, LaKeisha, Tammi, Nikkole, and Sarita, who Lynette affectionately called her "four jewels." Lynette dedicated her life to being a mother. She and Elwood instilled in their daughters a faith in Jesus Christ, which was woven into the fabric of their home. One of the greatest gifts Lynette received was becoming a grandmother to her twelve grandchildren and being known as "Nana". When Lynette was not with her family, you could find her at Woods Seafood in Plymouth, at lunch or dinner with a dear friend, bopping around town at Hobby Lobby or Marshalls, and even catching a Weymouth youth softball game. Lynette was a substitute teacher in the Weymouth Public Schools District for over ten years and will be remembered for how she connected with her students during that time.
Lynette’s legacy will always be her belief and faith in Jesus Christ. It was her life's calling to praise and speak the name of Jesus and spread His light to everyone in her life. Lynette would want you to know that she is in heaven with her Savior, reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death including her love, Elwood. She is rejoicing with the angels and at peace.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23
Lynette is predeceased by her beloved husband Elwood Ruley Jr., her parents James and Eva Wiggins (Brown) and siblings Jimmy, Wayne, Kenny, Dorothy Jean (Stovall), Mary, Rudolph, William and Geraldine (Smith). She is survived by her daughters LaKeisha Garcia and her husband Josue of Medford, Tammi Fumberi and her husband Hervé of NY, Nikkole Jones and her husband Victor of LA, and Sarita Mullen and her husband Wade of PA, her grandchildren Joshua, Gabriella, Eliana, Makai, Brielle, Josiah, Nola, Zora, Maya, Wyatt, Haven, and Wes, sisters Vergie Robinson, Linda Wharton, Janice Thorne, Jay Laverne Garrison, brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
We will miss her greatly. We are deeply grieved and ask for your prayers.
