Kathleen James of Weymouth, passed away suddenly on October 18, 2022. Kathi was born in Quincy, and raised in Weymouth, where she graduated from Weymouth High School in 1960. She continued to reside in Weymouth where she raised her four children with her loving husband Robert E. James.
Kathi worked at the John Hancock in Boston, M&I and John Scott House Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, each in Braintree. She adored working and her coworkers, who became great friends of hers. Kathi loved making many memories on family trips to Florida and Cape Cod and traveling with family and friends. A couple of her favorite traveling experiences was when she sailed on the QE II from London and on a cruise to Bermuda with several of her close friends. She enjoyed baking for family and friends, she loved the holidays, and was a proud member of the South Shore Mother of Twins Club for many years. Kathi was the matriarch of a family of an astounding 104 family members that she cherished dearly, family and friend were truly everything to Kathi.
Kathi is predeceased by her husband Robert E. James. She is survived by her loving children, Lisa Castro of Stoughton, Tracy Castro, and her husband, John Joy of Weymouth, Christopher Castro, and his wife Kirsten of Weymouth, Todd Castro of Welfleet, her grandchildren, Sam, Cameron, Jake, Madison and Emily and she would have welcomed her first great grandchild in November. Kathi is also survived by her siblings, Desi Gould, Pat McPherson, Mary Ellen Carey, Danny Gould, Dickie Gould, Terri Vento, and the late Mike Gould. Kathi also had many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation in memory of Kathi on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 4-7pm in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Sq.) A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 7pm. A graveside service will be held the following morning at 11am at Old North Cemetery on the Norton St side.
