Joseph J. Taglilatelo, age 84, of Weymouth, passed away on May 23, 2024. Joseph was born and raised in Somerville. He graduated from Medford High School in 1957 and then went to work as a landscaper for Tufts until he was drafted into the United States Army. He met the love of his life, Sally, at the Eastover Dance Hall in 1962, and the two got married in 1965. They lived in Jamaica Plain for a time before deciding to settle in South Weymouth, where they raised their loving family. Joseph was employed and retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. in Dorchester, MA after 25 years.
Joseph adored travelling with his wife Sally. They enjoyed many cruises, and trips throughout the world but was especially fond of the trip to Rome with his brother, Bob. He liked music and dancing and socializing with friends and was a member of the Weymouth Knights of Columbus for many years.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Sally Taglilatelo (Clarke), of Weymouth. He is also survived by his children, Lisa Murphy and her husband Mick, of Arizona, and Julie Bracken and her husband Daniel, of Kingston. Joseph was also loved by his three grandchildren, Ciara, Bridgette and Amelia. He will be missed by his brother Robert Taglilatelo and his wife Patricia.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Joseph on Monday, June 3, at 9am in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth. A funeral Mass will follow immediately after the Celebration of Life, at the Saint Francis Xavier Church, located at 234 Pleasant St. Weymouth, at 10am. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, using the link provided on this page.
