Joseph Michael Leahy Jr

Joseph Michael Leahy,  Jr., age 68, of Weymouth, passed away surrounded by his family on February 29, 2024. Joseph was born, raised and educated in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School in 1974. After high school he attended Boston College and then went to work as a title examiner and then a salesman for thirty plus years. Joseph met the love of his life Joanne fifty years ago while still in high school, and the two married on October 12, 1980. They decided to settle in Weymouth, where they raised their family together.

Joseph loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, range shooting and gardening. He was also a big Boston sports fan, especially when it came to baseball.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of forty-four years, Joanne Leahy (Greene) of Weymouth. He is also survived by his children, Michael Leahy and his wife Amanda of Hanson, Timothy Leahy and his wife Jillian of Puyallup, Washington, and Ryan Leahy of Puyallup, Washington. Joseph was the loving Papa of Isabella, Ryder, Liam, Jace, Emma and Frances. He will be missed by his siblings, Peter Leahy and his wife Elaine, Catherine Brine and her husband Philip, and Anne Trovato and her husband Joe. Joseph was loved by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Atty. Joseph and Mrs. Ruth Leahy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Joseph on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm, at the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Sq.)
