James Joseph Sullivan

James Joseph Sullivan, age 85, of Weymouth, passed away on September 6, 2023. Jim was born and raised in Weymouth. He attended Archbishop Williams High School, graduating in 1955. Jim married his wife, Jane, in 1960, and settled in Weymouth where they raised their four daughters. Jim went on to earn his Bachelor's degree at Stonehill College while working full time. Jim worked in banking for his entire career. He worked at Granite Trust Company, South Shore Bank, Multibank, and South Shore Savings Bank.

Jim was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing golf and loved watching all of the New England teams, but the thing he loved most was attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events and activities.

Above all, Jim was a family man. He was very active in his children's lives, volunteering his time in their various activities. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Jane (Flathers) and his loving children, Linda Roach and her husband, Kevin, of Weymouth; Diane Walsh of Weymouth; Karen Moran of Twin Mountain, New Hampshire; and Paula Carmichael and her husband, Gary, of Washington, New Hampshire. Jim is also survived by his grandchildren Brian Walsh and Elizabeth Carstens, Megan Walsh, Sara Walsh, Shaun Roach and his wife Allee, Shaylyn Hall and her husband Zach, and Ryan Roach. Jim was also loved by his great-grandchildren, Bexley, Fletcher, Beau, Emmalyn, and Elsie. Jim is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Alice Sullivan, his brothers Gerald, Edward and William Sullivan, and his son-in-law Michael Walsh. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Jim on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 4:00-6:00 PM in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant Street (Columbian Sq.), Weymouth. On Friday, September 15, relatives and friends will gather at the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a Celebration of Life and a funeral Mass will be held at Saint Francis Xavier Church located at 234 Pleasant Street, Weymouth, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
