James J. Clerkin Jr.

James J. Clerkin Jr., age 76, of Marshfield and formerly of Hull passed away Friday, December 2, 2022. Jim was born in Boston then lived for a short time with his family in Hingham prior to settling in Hull in 1955 where he was raised and had so many fond memories. Jim met many friends while working at Road to Responsibility in Braintree and Marshfield for many years

Jim was well known for his rock-skipping ability that he perfected over many years of walking Hull Beaches, taking time to collect only the best stones for aerodynamics and distance. Jim also loved fishing, boating with family, and his many trips to Disney.

Jim was predeceased by his parents James Sr. and Lillian (Straka) Clerkin. He is survived by his siblings Margo Clerkin of Marshfield, Bill Clerkin and his wife Sandra of Hanson, Brian Clerkin and Edward of Norwell, Paul Clerkin and his wife Nancy of Hingham, and Kevin Clerkin and his wife Karen of Hull. Jim is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Jim on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10-11am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 11am. Burial will follow in the Hull Village Cemetery located in Hull, MA.
