Irene Moriarty

Irene Moriarty, age 90, of Hingham, passed away on December 19, 2023. Irene was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. She emigrated to the United States, and shortly after met the love of her life Robert Moriarty. Irene and Bob married in 1953, they started a family in Dorchester then decided to move to Hingham in 1961 where they have lived ever since.

Irene loved reading and being with her family. One of her fondest memories is of a cross-country rail trip she took with her husband Bob.  She was a great and caring soul, her family meant everything to her.

Irene is predeceased by her beloved husband Robert "Bob" Moriarty and their son Daniel Moriarty. She is survived by her loving children, James P Moriarty and his wife Dawn, of Cedar Rapids; Iowa, Eileen Wilkins of Pembroke; Joseph Moriarty and his wife Kristen, of South Carolina; and Robert Moriarty and his wife Katie, of Rockland.

Nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren loved Irene.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a funeral Mass for Irene on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10 AM, in Resurrection Church, located at 1057 Main St. Hingham. A graveside service will follow after the Mass, at Blue Hill Cemetery, located at 700 West St, Braintree.
