Helen Monica Carr, age 92, of South Weymouth, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024. Helen was born, raised and educated in South Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School in 1949. She married Robert Carr in September of 1952, and the two settled in South Weymouth where they raised their loving family.
Helen enjoyed gardening, dancing; especially clogging, playing the flute and photography. She was a member of the South Shore Camera Club for many years, traveling throughout New England taking pictures with camera club friends. Our mom was a loving, friendly and hard working woman who was liked by everyone who met her. She worked for Alvin Hollis after high school for a few years and Bradlees warehouse for 20+ years before retiring.
Helen is predeceased by her parents, Michael J. and Katherine A.(Murphy) McGlynn. She is survived by her loving children, Deborah Bullard, of Hanover and Stephen Carr and his wife, Linda, of East Bridgewater. She will be missed by her granddaughter, Alicia Morse and her husband, Chris, and her great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Dylan, CJ, and Aiden. She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Aimee, and her great granddaughter Bailey. Helen is also predeceased by her siblings, Terence McGlynn, Kevin "Keve" McGlynn, Mary "Mady" McGlynn, Kathleen "Kay" Strachan, Theresa Shea, Adeline Keefe and Marjorie "Midge" Capozzi.
Helen requested there be no wake on her behalf, so we respectfully invite relatives and friends to the funeral Mass 10am on Monday, April 29th, at the Saint Francis Xavier Church, located at 234 Pleasant St. South Weymouth.
