Harold Carr

Harold Carr, age 93, of Hull, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024.  Harold was born in Portland, Maine, raised and educated in Scarborough, Maine. He moved to Dorchester as a teenager and shortly after enlisted in the military where he proudly served in the United States Navy. When he returned from his service he worked at the Quincy Shipyard and was a school bus driver before moving on to many years working in courier service. He married the love of his life Mildred in 1953 and the two settled in Weymouth, where they raised their four daughters.

Harold was quite the handyman. He could build and fix anything. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and later in life, loved fishing in New Hampshire.

Harold is predeceased by his beloved wife of sixty seven years, Mildred Carr (Callahan). He is survived by his loving children, Deborah Carr- Smith and her husband Robert, of Vermont, Doreen Gatie and her husband John, of Florida, Dawn Curran Foley and her husband Richard, of Hull MA and Darlene Breau and her husband John, of Florida. Harold was also predeceased by his son in law, Jack Curran. Harold always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Yvan, Daniel, Kathleen, Rachel, Jason, Hayes, Erin and Ashley, and his seven great grandchildren. He will be missed by his sister, Joyce Meier of North Carolina.

Services for Harold will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
