Geraldine E. Cahill

Geraldine E. Cahill (Fitzgerald), age 90, of Weymouth passed away after a sudden illness on December 5, 2024 at home with loving family by her side. Gerry was born and raised in Somerville where she graduated Somerville High School in 1952. Gerry considered herself so blessed to have been healthy and living a very active life until just recently.

Gerry worked at The Telephone Company for a few years prior to meeting her husband, Francis, whom she married in 1955. They started a family together in Quincy then soon after settled in Weymouth where they raised their family. Gerry returned to work at the Telephone Company and worked at Seoane's Garden Center after retirement.  She was an avid bowler who enjoyed healthy competition.  She was a great storyteller who could make her friends laugh.  Gerry became involved in the Weymouth Whipple Senior Center in 2017 and loved all the friends and activities that she had there.

Gerry was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis X. Cahill. Gerry is survived by her loving children Susan Cahill of Weymouth, Kevin Cahill of Weymouth, and Patricia Greene and her husband Robert Montpelier of Weymouth, her dear grandchildren Emily Ahern, Sara Cahill, Joshua Greene, and Stephanie Cahill and her cherished great-grandchildren Caylee Cahill, Cecilia Ahern, Olivia Ahern, Lyla Ahern and Charles Ahern. She is also survived by her devoted nieces and nephews and their children.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Gerry on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 4-7pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home Tuesday morning at 9am for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass which will begin at 10am in the St. Francis Xavier Church in S. Weymouth. Burial will be at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree immediately following the Mass.
