Frederick Joseph Freeman Jr. of Weymouth, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on June 4, 2023. Beloved husband of Joan (Barry) Freeman. Cherished son of the late Frederick and Dorothy Freeman. Devoted father of Frederick J. Freeman III and his fiance, Sharon Leone of Hanover, Jean M. Elsner and her husband, Kenneth of Pembroke, Robert S. Freeman and his wife, Josie of Forest, Virginia, David B. Freeman of Holbrook and Diane J. Intravaia and her husband, Anthony of Weymouth. Adoring "Grumpa" of Brittany, Frederick IV, Ashlie, Justin, Jenna, Benjamin, Michael, Nicholas, Carlie and "Great Grumpa" to Noah.  Fred is predeceased by his dear siblings, Donald Freeman, George Freeman, Dorothy Dellascio and his sister in-law, Gail Barry. He is also survived by his in-laws, Linda Freeman of Dorchester, Lynn Freeman of Dorchester, Alan Dellascio of Wilmington and Robert Barry of Manchester, New Hampshire. Fred will also be dearly missed by many loving nieces and nephews.

Fred served in the United States Army in his youth. He worked for the United States Postal Police Service for 38 years. His family, friends and his faith were everything to Fred.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Fred on Thursday June 8, 2023, from 4-8pm, in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth.  A Celebration of Life will be held the following morning at 9:30am inside the funeral home, prior to the Funeral Mass that will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Plain Street Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Fred's name to Beacon Hospice an Amedisys Foundation, using the link provided on this page.
