Frank N. Rand of Weymouth, MA passed away at home on March 14, 2025, at the age of 84. Frank was born on October 2, 1940, in Boston to George Rand and Muriel Rand (Gladwin), both born in Boston.
Frank was raised in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1958. He earned his associate degree in Forestry from Nichols College before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving from 1960 to 1963. After his service, Frank continued his education, receiving a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in the 1970s.
Frank worked for many years as a warehouse manager for various companies across the South Shore, but later in life, he embraced his passion for the outdoors by joining the grounds crew at Cohasset Golf Club, a role he loved and held until his retirement in 2019.
Frank enjoyed taking his wife and children to visit family in rural Vermont throughout the years. Frank also loved the salty air of Cape Cod and spent many days enjoying the sunshine and watching boats, both during his own childhood as well as later in life with his family. An avid outdoorsman and fisherman, Frank was a proud member of the Woodsmen Club (NICON) at Nichols College. He was known for his trademark red hair, infectious laugh, sharp sense of humor, and love of classic comedy movies.
Frank was predeceased by his loving wife of 38 years, Anne B. Rand (Mitchell), who also grew up in Weymouth. Frank is survived by his sons, Scott A. Rand of Plymouth and Paul R. Rand and his wife Maria R. Rand of Weymouth. He was a proud grandfather (Vovo or Frankie) to Isabella Rand and Duncan Rand. Frank is also survived by his brother, Richard G. Rand, as well as Scott's former wife, Edilaine C. Rand, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation for Frank on Tuesday, March 18th from 5 - 8PM at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home. A graveside burial service with a Celebration of Life and Military Honors will be the following day, Wednesday, March 19th at 11AM at Fairmount Cemetery in Weymouth.
