F. Gerard Gorman

F. Gerard "Gerry" Gorman, age 94, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025. Gerry was raised and educated in Hingham where he graduated High School in 1948. A talented athlete, Gerry was captain of the basketball team and was involved in many other competitive sports including tennis. 

Gerry attended New England College of Art where he honed his draftsman skills that served him for most of his life working for General Dynamics. Gerry was passionate about the well-being of workers so he was very involved with the Union, always fighting for fair pay and hours for all. 

Gerry married his high school sweetheart, Cindy, in 1952. They started a family in Hingham and Quincy then settled in S. Weymouth where they lived for 67 years, cultivating more fond memories than could possibly be counted. Gerry was a faithful man and a hard worker who loved being with his family.

Gerry was predeceased by his beloved wife Cynthia Gorman (Downer) and his daughter Patty Keenan. He is survived by his children Cindy Sylvia, Jo Goodman, Michael Gorman, Stephen Gorman, Peter Gorman, Chris Gorman, and Meri Carini. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the Funeral Mass in honor of Gerry's life at 11:30am on Thursday, January 23, 2025 in Resurrection Church located at 1057 Main St. Hingham, MA 02043. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the  charity of your choice.
