Ernest Bidmead

Ernest C. Bidmead, age 98, of Leominster and formerly of Winthrop and Norwell, passed away on July 6, 2023. Ernest was born in Ohio, the son of the late Warren and Grace Bidmead, and grew up in Winthrop, MA. He graduated Arlington High School in 1943 followed by Tufts University and Northeastern where he received a Bachelor's degree. He proudly served in the Army during WWII where he was a POW in Germany, and also in the Navy during the Korean War.

Ernie married his beloved wife, Janice, in 1977 and they lived in Norwell where they raised a family. He worked for Bank of Boston for over 30 years prior to retiring in 1988. In retirement Ernie and Jan enjoyed travelling and being with their grandchildren together. Ernest loved to golf, read, do crossword puzzles and Sudoku, play Scrabble, watch the Red Sox and the Patriots but what he truly loved was spending time with his grandchildren and family whom he loved so much.

Ernest is survived by his wife of 46 years Janice P. Bidmead (Phillips) of Leominster, his children Steven Wallstrom of Pembroke and Deborah Perrault of Leominster, his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Ethan, Kylie, and Emma, his brother Warren Bidmead Jr. and wife Julia of CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother David Bidmead.

His family will miss his smile, his generous heart and the amazing dedication and love that he had for them all.
