Edward L. McLoud III of Weymouth passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 68. Ed was born and raised in Dorchester and attended Dorchester High School. Once graduated he joined the United States Marines and proudly served. He attended Dean Jr. College and married his wife Jeanette in 1984. Ed was a security group leader/supervisor at The Gillette Company in South Boston for 37 years. He retired and spent the rest of his time with his family in Weymouth.
Ed was a man that loved to work. While he wasn’t working, he would enjoy fishing, coin collecting and watching the Patriots and Red Sox. He took great pride in his yard and loved keeping up with all the yard work. He was a member of the VFW and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Ed was the beloved husband of Jeanette McLoud of Weymouth. He was the loving father of Patrick McLoud and his wife Sarah Foster of Weymouth, Sarah Jean McLoud-Linder and her husband Jonathan of Belmont, and Samantha Erwin and her husband Anthony of Abington. Ed also leaves behind his grandchildren Victoria and Carly as well as his siblings Daniel McLoud and his wife Ana, Michael McLoud and his wife Robin, Edith Bevins, Robert McLoud, Susan D’Agostino, Gail Hawker and her husband James, Theresa Norton, and John McLoud and his wife Jackie. He is predeceased by his siblings William McLoud and Sandra Conoscienti and her husband Thomas.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation in memory of Edward on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 4-8PM in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather in the funeral home at 9AM on Friday, January 10, 2025 for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church at 10AM. Burial will follow the Mass in the Blue Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ed’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or Dana Farber Cancer Center.
