Edward (Ed) Lyman, 61 years old, died on September 19, 2023 after a long illness. Born in Weymouth, Mass, Ed enjoyed fishing, shooting, boating and cars as a young man and his interests blossomed in aviation after graduating from Weymouth Votech. He attended Northeastern University to study aviation and earned his private pilot’s license and worked at Norwood Airport. He then went on to multiple jobs nationwide in aviation dispatching. He also attained a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Curry College. He loved the Beatles, the Patriots and owning convertibles.
Ed is survived by his mother Marion and siblings Jack, George and his wife Cate, Art, Melinda and her husband James and Rich and his significant other Jeannie, as well as his nephew George and nieces Claire, Jaimelle and Maya. He also leaves his buddies Dick Linehan, Nick Rodwell and Desert Bill. He was predeceased by his father John Lyman.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the New England Wildlife Center in his memory. Just remember Ed fondly and try to do something helpful for another as he would do. His family would like to thank EMS and the medical professionals that helped over the years. Especially the staff at BIDMC and his NP Paula Cassford.
