Edward M. Fitzsimmons, age 77, of Middleboro passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023. Ed was raised and educated in Cambridge. He left school early to join the Marines, and proudly served in Vietnam. He met his wife, Claudette, while on leave and married her in 1969.

Ed and Claudette settled in Hull where they raised their family until 1997 when they moved to Pembroke. Ed is a retired Teamster Local 82. Ed was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and his gardens.

Ed was predeceased by his beloved wife Claudette Fitzsimmons (Marshall). He is survived by his loving children Dian O'Hare and her husband George of Maine, Jim Godinho and his fiance Janet Carrara of Middleboro, David Godinho and his husband Ken Heckman of Hull, Glenn Fitzsimmons and his significant other Lauren of Weymouth, and Scott Fitzsimmons and his wife Karen of Scituate, his cherished grandchildren Sean, Christopher, Scott, Amanda, Sarah, Ella, and Violet, and his great-grandchildren Sabrina, Ayvah, Elena, Vincent, and Rowan. Ed is also the loving brother of Judy Dineen and Dorothy Alibrandi.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Ed on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9am Wednesday for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass which will begin at 10am in St. Francis Xavier Church in S. Weymouth. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
