Dorothy Rosseel, aged 91, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2023. Dorothy was born in Boston and grew up in Wollaston. She graduated from North Quincy High School in 1949. After high school, Dorothy married Raymond Holbrook Jr. and the two were married for 10 years before he sadly passed away. She found love again after meeting John Rosseel, and the two married in 1964 and she and John raised their loving family in Abington.
Dorothy had many hobbies including baking, and hand quilting. One of her greatest joys was music. She enjoyed playing the organ at home and at church, singing throughout the house or in the car, listening to her family perform music, or simply listening to her favorite CDs. She also played the piano and adored ballroom dancing. She was a devoted member of her church, the Christian Science Society in Rockland. But above all, her greatest love and joy was found in her family and friends.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband John Rosseel and her daughter Sandra Kelliher. She is survived by her children, Diane Holbrook and her husband Ron of Weymouth, Kenneth Rosseel of Abington, and her son-in-law Leo Kelliher and his wife Susan, of Pembroke. She was also loved by her grandchildren, Christina Mason and her husband Chris of Saugerties, New York, Jason Kelliher and his wife Susan of Brockton, Lisa Ramos and her husband Cam of Stoughton, and Molly Kelliher of Pembroke. Dorothy will also be missed by her newly-welcomed great-granddaughter Kylie Rose Ramos.
A Memorial Service for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, August 26, at 11AM in the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) South Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the Wounded Warrior Project using the link provided.
