Dennis J. McCabe

Weymouth- Dennis J. McCabe, 73, passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2025 surrounded by his wife and two sons. Dennis was born in Medford, the son of the late Joseph and Lucille McCabe. He was raised and educated in Holbrook, and graduated from Holbrook High School in 1969. He pursued higher education at Massasoit Community College, UMass Amherst, and earned his Master’s degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

In 1980, Dennis met the love of his life Diane, and they married in 1984. They made their home in Weymouth and enjoyed 40 wonderful years together. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was idolized by his sons and adored by his grandsons. Among his fondest memories were family vacations, especially trips to Maine.

Dennis had a passion for reading, particularly about history, and treasured father-son outings. He was known for his generous spirit, always willing to help others, and for his unforgettable, joyful laugh that brought light to those around him.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife Diane, his two children Andrew McCabe and his wife Jess of Whitman, and Luke McCabe and his wife Sarah of Kensington, NH. He also leaves behind his cherished grandkids, Joseph, Mac and Owen. Dennis is also survived by his sisters, Patricia Anderson and Diane White, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Dennis on Friday, January 31st, at C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home from 4 to 7PM. There will be a Celebration of Life service the following day, Saturday, February 1st at 10:30AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Weymouth. Burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Weymouth.
