Daniel M. Boyle, age 92, of Weymouth passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2025 at home. Dan was raised and educated in Dorchester and got his first job at the Walter Baker Chocolate Company in Lower Mills. He then joined the Army and served until 1954. Immediately following his military service he joined the Boston Police Department where he was part of the mounted unit, motorcycle unit and eventually rose to the rank of Sergeant. While on the job, Dan was honored to be one of the first Boston Police Officers to be involved in community policing/engagement which strengthened the relationship between the community and BPD. He earned his Master’s degree at the same time.
Daniel loved to sing, dance, and loved Frank Sinatra. He was also known as an exceptional athlete. For the last ten years Dan has enjoyed his relationship with his partner, Winnie, who helped enrich his life.
Daniel was a father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be fondly remembered.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the Funeral Mass for Dan on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Noon in the Immaculate Conception Church located on Broad St. in E. Weymouth. Burial will immediately follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.StJude.org/donate.
