Cynthia MacDonald

Cynthia (Cindy) Ethel MacDonald (81), of Weymouth, passed away Thursday, January 4th peacefully at her home. Cynthia was born on January 15th, 1942 to James Clifford and Barbara (Glidden) Clifford. 

Cynthia graduated from Weymouth High School in 1960. In 1962, she married the love of her life, Richard MacDonald of Weymouth, and they would spend the next 61 years together. Cynthia worked for many years as a Realtor, based on the South Shore, where she met many of her closest and dearest friends.  She was both competitive and social and real estate offered the perfect arena. Upon retirement, Cynthia spent much of her time supporting her four grandchildren and their pursuits. But her main mission in life was to care for and love her husband, Richard.  

Cynthia is survived by her, daughter Julie Rhodes and her husband George of Plymouth, MA and son Rick MacDonald and his wife Tamara of Hingham, MA.  She was a grandmother to Katie and Gwen Rhodes and Drew and Caroline MacDonald.  Cynthia is also survived by her sister Judith Pforr of Weymouth.  She was predeceased by her husband Richard of Weymouth and sister Majorie Durant of Lake Oswego, OR.  Cynthia is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Cynthia on Thursday, January 11, from 2-5pm, in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Sq.), South Weymouth. A Celebration of Life will be held the following morning at the funeral home at 9am, prior to the funeral Mass at 10am, at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Weymouth. Burial will be private.
