Cheryl “Sherry” (Renkert) Langill, age 78, of Hingham passed away peacefully the morning of March 29, 2025. Sherry was born July 9, 1946, in Mount Clemens, Michigan to her late parents Louis Renkert and June Blackwell. Family was Sherry’s top priority, and she was immensely proud of the beautiful life and family she built with her devoted husband of 58 years, Edward Langill.

Sherry is survived by three children, Ted Langill of Weymouth, Jim Langill and his wife Elizabeth of Hanson, and CherylAnn McMorrow of Hingham. Sherry was especially proud of her loving grandchildren, Tyler and his wife Caitlin, Amanda and her husband Nick, Patrick and his wife Brianna, Kathryn, Nicholas, Ryan, and Bailey, and her great-grandson Emmett. She is also survived by her siblings Paul Mitchell, Michael Renkert, Mary (Renkert) Dailey, Mark Renkert, Michelle (Renkert) Hazard, and Michelle Mitchell. Sherry is predeceased by her parents, her husband Edward Langill, their son David Langill, her brother Steven Mitchell, Grandson Aron Langlais and son-in-law Michael McMorrow.

Sherry and Ed met in Hingham shortly after he was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1964. The pair enjoyed several years working for Ed’s late Uncle Jack and Aunt Gerry at Langill Amusements, a traveling carnival company. Sherry enjoyed sharing stories traveling across New England to different county fairs serving up the classic staple, fried dough. Later, Sherry worked at Plymouth River School as a nurse's aid, where she had her “magic ice”, before moving on to South Shore Hospital as a unit coordinator.

Sherry enjoyed watching the animals in her backyard, indulging in seafood and listening and singing along to Elvis Presley, her life-long favorite. Sherry was also a member of New North Church in Hingham where she enjoyed attending services of Pastor Steve Aucella. She was a proud Hingham resident who especially enjoyed attending the 4th of July parade and Hingham fireworks surrounded by her friends and family. Sherry will be remembered for her quick wit and love for life.
