Carolyn Ann Johansson (Flynn), 85, of South Weymouth, MA passed away peacefully on April 29, 2023. Born in Holyoke, MA, and raised in Dorchester, Carolyn graduated from Emmanuel College with a degree in Mathematics and minors in Chemistry and Physics. Later she went to Northeastern University, earning a Master’s degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science. She was predeceased by her beloved husband George David Johansson (April 6, 1991).
Carolyn worked in computer business applications at various places throughout her career, including Draper Labs and the Ground Round, and retiring from South Shore Hospital. She ran group gourmet dinners so that people could dine together as a group, organized a walking group at Hanover Mall, and ran Membership for numerous years for one of her social groups. Carolyn always had copies of their newsletter with activities schedule so that she could share them with people she would meet who were living on their own to help connect them to others. Carolyn was also an extremely avid and skilled bridge player and was a member of Puritan Bridge Club for many decades.
Carolyn loved her family dearly and always tried to do the best that she could for them. She is survived by her children, George T Johansson, Diane Throop (Mark), and Barbara Thomson (Kenneth), and her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends.
