Brian J. Flukes

Brian Jonathan Flukes, 77, of Weymouth, passed away on August 29, 2023. Brian was born in Boston and raised in Wollaston before graduating from Boston College High School in 1964 and earning his Bachelor's degree from Villanova University in 1968. After college, Brian began his career as a middle school teacher in Braintree where he taught countless students in English and Computer Science for 36 years and was known as “Super Flukes” by his adoring students.

Brian was a man of many interests; during summers, he frequently painted houses around the South Shore, loved playing golf, and he could often be found sitting outside in the sun enjoying a cold one. He loved singing along to The Eagles, Peter Frampton, Steely Dan, and Michael Jackson among many other favorite artists, and was easily recognizable through his bright, fluorescent fashion choices.  Brian was known for his incredible generosity, quick wit, and contagious sense of humor, and he brought joy and laughter to all he met. Above all, Brian was a devoted family man who loved his wife, children, and grandson beyond measure and was much-loved in return.

Brian is survived by his loving wife Judy (Nash) of 40 years. He is also survived by his children, Ted Flukes of Weymouth; Ali Flukes of Narberth, PA; Emily Reddington and her husband Greg of Norwood; Jonno Flukes and his fiancé Sabina Miller of Denver, CO; and Rory Flukes of South Boston. He was also the beloved grandfather aka "Bumpa" to his grandson Brian. Brian is also survived by his siblings Rickie Coffey of Denver, CO, and Terry Flukes of Plymouth and was predeceased by his brother Fred Flukes of Wollaston. He will be sincerely missed by his many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Super Bri on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 4-8 PM, at the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) in Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home Wednesday morning for a Celebration of Life at 9 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow immediately afterward at Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, his family invites you to consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association in Brian’s memory.
