Betty Minihan (Shand), age 93, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024. Betty was born in Boston, raised and educated in Quincy, graduating from Quincy High School in 1948. She met the love of her life John early in childhood and the two reconnected when John returned from the Navy and married on October 5th 1957. The two decided to settle in Weymouth, where they raised their loving family. Betty worked at the family store "Minihan's Handy Store" in Randolph MA with her husband John which they owned for thirty five years. She and John often enjoyed going on cruises together along with friends and especially family.
Betty is predeceased by her husband John Minihan. She is survived by her children, John Minihan Jr., and his fiancé, Tracey of Easton, James Minihan and his partner Lisa, of Pembroke and Robert Minihan and his wife Marie, of Hanover. Betty was also loved by her grandchildren, Brittany Bridget, Alyssa, Patrick, Jonathan and Matthew.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Betty on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 4-7pm, in the CC Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth. A Celebration of Life will be held the following morning in the funeral home at 9am, prior to the Mass at St. Albert the Great Church in Weymouth at 10am.
