Beatrice Diersch Holzworth went home to be with her Lord on June 30, 2023. Wife of the late Donald I. Holzworth and loving mother of Donald C. Holzworth (husband of Donna Holzworth) of Weymouth and Pamela J. Barra (wife of Joe Golemme) of Hingham. Daughter of the late William G. and Beatrice C. Diersch of Weymouth, and sister of the late Willam E., Charles M, George B. and Albert E. Diersch. Born in East Weymouth, she was a lifetime resident of the town. She graduated from Weymouth High School in 1942. She was 98 years old.
Beatrice is also survived by her grandchildren Eric, Greg, Matt, and Mike, and her great-grandchildren Cory, Max, Gavin, Scott, Vivian, and Serena, as well as several nieces and nephews.
After her graduation from high school, Beatrice worked at Mathewson Machine Works in North Quincy as secretary to the President. It was there that she met her husband. Once both her children were in school, she returned to work part-time as an Assistant Teacher in the Christian Kindergarten at the First Baptist Church of Weymouth. In 1989 after having returned to the work world once again, she retired from her position in the office at Weymouth Art Leather in Braintree.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weymouth, a leader in Pioneer Girls, a ninth grade Sunday School teacher, and also served in many other ministries in the Church. When she could no longer attend church, she became known as a prayer warrior spending at least 3 hours a day interceding not only for her family and friends, but also for countless others.
She was deeply loved by many and will be sorely missed.
