Alicia M. Chmiel (Kulma) of Quincy passed away on December 14, 2022 at the age of 85. Alicia was born, raised, and educated in Poland before moving to the United States in her 20s. She began work at the Colonial Fenway Frank Factory and worked various jobs throughout her life. She met her husband Joseph, the two wed in 1960, moved to Dorchester and started a family.
Alicia loved her Friday bingo nights, doing puzzles and walking around her Quincy neighborhood. Above all else Alicia was a family woman and cherished the time she got to spend with them especially, her grandchildren. She was a staple in the family and in her community and will be sorely missed by all.
Alicia was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Chmiel. She was the loving mother of the late Evelyn MacDonald and her husband Chuck MacDonald of Quincy, Basia Fratus and her husband Mark of E. Bridgewater and Lucy McNeil and her husband Peter of Weymouth. Alicia was the cherished grandmother of Joey, Chris, Brian, Matt, Courtney, Erin, Katie and Emily and the great grandmother of Jack and Cole.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at the New Calvary Cemetery in Boston. Donations may be made in Alicia's memory to the St. Jude Hospital at stjude.org
