Alan S. Rosenburg of Weymouth, MA passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 70. Alan was born on August 18, 1954, to Joseph and Hannah Rosenburg (Fraser). He was raised and educated in Quincy, graduating from Quincy High School before beginning his apprenticeship, and then lifelong career with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 103, where he worked until his retirement in 2012.
In 1983, Alan met Jodie on a blind date arranged by friends. They married in 1986, moving in together and beginning their family in Weymouth.
Alan had a passion for road trips and traveling, bringing his family on numerous memorable trips such as Disney and Hershey Park. He loved to visit museums, parks, go for hikes, and spend time near the ocean, especially the Cape. An avid music listener (particularly blues and jazz, and classic rock), one of his favorite places was the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Though the list of bands he was passionate about is lengthy, Clapton, Santana, and Jean-Luc Ponty were some of his top favorites. He frequently went to concerts including The Rolling Stones, and Prince. A dedicated New England sports fan he was always rooting for his home teams. Alan also found joy in gardening, keeping many house plants in which he would gift cuttings to his family.
He was known for his generosity and selflessness, always willing to lend a helping hand—whether shoveling snow, providing flashlights during power outages, or delivering food to those in need, especially on Thanksgiving. He was always the first one there for his family and friends when they needed and was always there to support them in any endeavor. A pillar of the community, Alan was a member of the Weymouth Elks and an active volunteer at the Weymouth Food Pantry. He sent an example for living life to the fullest, making countless memories for his family and friends, spreading smiles and joy to those around him.
Alan is survived by Jodie S. Rosenburg of Whitman, his children, Jillian L. Rosenburg of Rockland, Jason J. Rosenburg and his wife Amanda E. of Easton, Jaime L. Rosenburg and her husband Gregory J. Haapaoja of Rockland, and Jordan Rose Rosenburg of Weymouth. He was a proud grandfather to Ezra, Rex, Annie, and Atlas, as well as to three grand-dogs, Bergy, Archer, and Henry. Alan is also survived by his siblings, Diane Rosenburg of Cambridge and Jack Rosenburg of Quincy.
