Virginia Petersen

Weymouth- Virginia R. (Crook) Petersen age 93 passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Tuesday August 30, 2011. Wife of the late Benny Petersen, Beloved mother of Ronald Petersen of Hawaii, George Petersen of Taunton, Linda Manuel of S. Weymouth, Nancy Mello of N. Weymouth and the late Jean Richardson of St. Louis, Missouri. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Geraldine DeLesDernier, George Crook, Barbara Alford and Carlton Crook. Virginia was born in Boston and lived in Dorchester and for the last 80 years lived in Weymouth. She was a very loving, devoted mother to her family. She also enjoyed baking and decorating cakes and crocheting especially making baby sweater sets for family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday September 3, 2011 at 10 A.M. at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 P.M. relatives and friends invited.
