Edythe N. (Jacobsen) Bielefeldt, age 92, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Saturday August 13, 2011. Edythe was the wife of the late Henry W. Bielefeldt. She was the devoted mother of Judith A. Mitchell and Paula J. Keenan and her husband Jack all of S. Weymouth, the beloved grandmother of Paul L. Keenan and Jenny M. Keenan both of S. Weymouth and sister of Irene Kaiser of E. Weymouth. Edythe is also the sister-in-law of Virginia Bielefeldt, Melvin and Shirley Bielefeldt, Lillie Furlong and Alma Stevens all of Texas and John Kirsch of Winchendon. She also leaves nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Ernestine Kirsch and her brother Norman Jacobsen. Edythe was born in Boston, lived in Texas when she was first married and moved to Dorchester before living in Quincy for the last 62 years. She was devoted to her family and was an active member of the Wollaston Lutheran Church belonging to their Ladies Guild. Edythe also enjoyed sewing, animals, gardening and crafts. A Funeral Service will be held at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday August 17 at 11 A.M. Visiting Hours will be on Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M. Interment will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers, kindly send donations in her memory to Quincy Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 690088, Quincy, MA 02269 or the South Shore Elder Services, Inc., 159 Bay State Drive, Braintree, MA 02184.
